Saison 2008 en Normandie, des sorties selon vos envies.
La Normandie se prépare à vous faire vivre une saison dynamique, orchestrée par de nombreuses manifestations.
Attractions include Tatihou island, Hougue fort, the D-Day beaches and their museums, the Cotentin marshland park and the famous Gatteville lighthouse. The department of the Manche has a 250 km coastline which varies greatly from one place to another - with long stretches of sandy beaches, a rocky coast and the cliffs of the Hague. It is also possible to visit the Cité de la Mer (the Museum of the Sea) and many other sites and museums. The Channel Islands are close at hand and the Mont St Michel lies further to the south.
Just two kilometres off the coast from St Vaast, Tatihou island is an exceptional site with attractions including Vauban tower, a sandy beach and a museum. There are two ways of getting to the island: at high tide by amphibious boat or at low tide on foot - crossing the Run causeway through the oyster beds. It is possible to book the museum visit, including the crossing by boat, at the campsite.
Children will love the two superb sandy beaches only 400 m from the campsite.
The town centre and port are 300 m from the campsite. A market is held every Saturday morning. St Vaast - with its mixture of fishing boats and pleasure craft - is one of the biggest ports in the department. The bustling activity of the fishing boats makes it a favourite place for walkers - and piques the curiosity of onlookers.
Beachcombers will be in their element on the exposed rocks at low tide. Fishermen can also cast their lines from the pier.
The sailing school in the marina reserves a warm welcome for visitors. It is possible to sail catamarans and centerboarders and also to try windsurfing.
A health run skirts the camping ground and continues as far as Hougue tower. On the way back, joggers take the dike which leads to St Vaast port - passing in front of the Sailors' Chapel and the pier.
Tennis courts are located 500 m from the campsite, at the foot of the Hougue tower.
In the parish of Réville, 5 km away, a horse riding centre reserves a warm welcome for your children.
The nearest golf course is located in Fontenay-sur-Mer, 12 km away. It is a 18-hole, par 72, 5,770 metre long links course designed by Yves Bureau in 1973 and can be played all year round as it is built on sandy subsoil.
